I find there’s something comforting about knowing that everything that arises passes away.

We learn this from nature. When a flower blossoms, it will eventually wilt and die. When a storm rages, it will eventually pass and calm will be restored.

One of the amazing side effects of developing a Mindfulness practice, is the gift of slowly learning to accept What Is Right Now rather than clinging onto the ‘good’ or resisting the ‘bad’. So enjoying the beauty of the flower in the moment rather than feeling sad that it might not be there tomorrow. Or accepting the storm when it comes rather than wishing that the sun was shining.

When we resist change we can feel lost, stressed or stuck. In the words of Carl Jung, “What we resist persists.” When we accept that change is inevitable, stress eases and life can flow more freely.
