We can never be anywhere else but here, in this moment.
However our minds are often racing around in another virtual world, as we engage in thinking about the past or the future.
Much of this thinking can be unhelpful and often leaves us feeling, at the very least, tired and frazzled and more often tense, upset or anxious.
Practising mindfulness helps us to create a healthy habit of training our minds to be more balanced by spending more time settled in the present moment of our reality.
This is not difficult, we just need to remember to do it.
So, perhaps you’d like to take a moment to pause in your busy day and:
notice the breath flowing through the body
hear sounds all around you
taste the coffee or tea
feel the body just as it is and listen to what it might need
A great way to cultivate a habit of being present is to practice. If any of you wish to practice our guided mindfulness sessions on YouTube without listening to the introductions to the session, we have now added a one click “SKIP INTRO” option that will take you to the start of each practice.
