I'm nervous - will I have to say anything?

We provide chairs to sit on and on some courses, there is the option of sitting on cushions on the floor if you wish.

What happens in a typical session?
The course is usually taught over 8 sessions and participants meet together once a week for 1.5 to 2 hours. A new theme is introduced each week and participants are guided through two Mindfulness sessions that will help them to learn a range of different Mindfulness techniques, to incorporate into their lives at any time.
What should I wear?
You might choose to wear something you feel comfortable in.
What if I miss a week?
We understand that life doesn’t always allow for us to make it to every session. We have developed a course booklet that mirrors the main themes of the course and also the guided sessions on our Present Mind App or CD, which enables participants to catch up with any missed sessions. The course teachers are also available to offer support throughout the course.
Can I access the guided sessions if I don't have access to the app?
We realise that not everyone has access to a mobile phone or the internet and we provide all of the guided sessions on CDs for anybody who would prefer this.

No, Mindfulness courses aren’t therapy and are not being offered as a treatment for severe mental health conditions. Please contact one of the Present Mind Team if you would like to discuss this. You may also wish to seek advice from your GP.
We do have people attending the course to help them with less severe health or emotional issues, such as stress, anxiety, some depression, pain, chronic conditions or sleep disorders (amongst other things). Please contact one of the Present Mind Team to discuss any specific questions you may have as to whether a course would be suitable.
