Do you have a question about one of our Mindfulness courses? If your question isn’t answered below, please contact us.
Are your courses suitable for everyone?
Yes, everyone who is 18 years or older can attend our courses.
Is there disabled access?
We teach from a range of venues, most of which have disabled access. Please contact us with your specific needs.
Is parking available?
Generally all of the venues we use have free parking available. Please contact us to confirm. The course organiser will advise on where you can park when they email you with the course logistics.
Do I need to bring anything?
No, just bring yourself.
Are refreshments provided?
Water is always available. You are welcome to bring your own hot drinks.
How many people will be on the course?
This is dependent on the venues that we use and group sizes range from 8 – 20 people. For larger groups, there will be two teachers.
Is there any touch involved in the course?
I'm nervous - will I have to say anything?
No, we respect the fact that not everyone feels comfortable talking in a group and there’s no expectation to say anything unless you want to.
What will I sit on during the course?
We provide chairs to sit on and on some courses, there is the option of sitting on cushions on the floor if you wish.
Do I need to lie down during the course?
The course is taught sitting in chairs. There is no need to lie down during the course although this could be an option if this suits your physical needs.

No, our courses don’t involve any physical exercise. We might explore mindful walking or gentle mindful stretching / movement if this is suitable for the group.
Does the course involve any kind of religion?
No, our courses are taught in a completely secular way. There is no religious component.
What happens in a typical session?
The course is usually taught over 8 sessions and participants meet together once a week for 1.5 to 2 hours. A new theme is introduced each week and participants are guided through two Mindfulness sessions that will help them to learn a range of different Mindfulness techniques, to incorporate into their lives at any time.
What should I wear?
You might choose to wear something you feel comfortable in.
What if I miss a week?
We understand that life doesn’t always allow for us to make it to every session. We have developed a course booklet that mirrors the main themes of the course and also the guided sessions on our Present Mind App or CD, which enables participants to catch up with any missed sessions. The course teachers are also available to offer support throughout the course.
Can I access the guided sessions if I don't have access to the app?
We realise that not everyone has access to a mobile phone or the internet and we provide all of the guided sessions on CDs for anybody who would prefer this.
Will there be a test or exam at the end of the course?
No, there is no test or exam at the end of the course. We sometimes ask people to provide some feedback about the course so that we can continue to improve.

Is this course a form of therapy?
No, Mindfulness courses aren’t therapy and are not being offered as a treatment for severe mental health conditions. If you are experiencing severe mental health conditions then you may wish to consider One to One Mindfulness support or One to One Psychotherapy. Please contact one of the Present Mind Team if you would like to discuss this. You may also wish to seek advice from your GP.
We do have people attending the course to help them with less severe health or emotional issues, such as stress, anxiety, some depression, pain, chronic conditions or sleep disorders (amongst other things). Please contact one of the Present Mind Team to discuss any specific questions you may have as to whether a course would be suitable.
